The Elisha Collaborative

the Elisha Collaboratives Mission

Our Story

The Elisha Collaborative’s mission is to address the needs of single-parent families and special needs adults struggling with inflation; particularly in regard to essentials, such as shoes, clothes, technology and funding for extracurriculars.

While some government and charitable programs offer assistance, they often have strict eligibility criteria, leaving many vulnerable families without help.  Additionally, most nonprofits focus on food or crisis relief, leaving gaps in access to goods like clothing, hygiene products, technology, and developmental programs.

Single-income families and special needs adults increasingly struggle to meet the rising costs of living, creating a cycle of economic instability that can have long-lasting effects on both the individual and their families.

Inflation has exacerbated this issue, driving up prices across a wide range of essential goods and services. This economic pressure makes it increasingly difficult for low-income and single-parent families to afford even the most basic necessities.

Special needs adults, particularly those over 21, face economic and systemic challenges. As they age out of youth programs, access to essentials and developmental services becomes scarce, leading to isolation and skill regression.

The Elisha Collaborative acquires discounted overstock items to distribute to families in need and provide financial assistance for extracurricular activities.  We have a multi-faceted approach to help fund these essential purchases through merchandise sales, community fundraisers, donations, and corporate sponsorship collaborations. Our strategy fosters both significant financial support and a growing base of engaged community members. Corporate partnerships and private foundation grants enhance our ability to offer comprehensive assistance.

Mission-Driven Purpose

The Elisha Collaborative exists to fill the gaps left by traditional assistance programs. Our mission is to support single-parent families and special needs adults over 21 by redistributing overstocked retail inventory and channeling profits into life-changing programs. From school activities to daily essentials, our holistic model addresses overlooked needs through retail, community fundraising, and corporate engagement.

Single-income Stress

Families supported by a single income face rising costs that threaten both short-term needs and long-term stability.

Inflation Impact

Inflation has intensified financial pressure, making even basic items harder to afford for low-income households.

Adults with disabilities over 21 often lose vital Medicaid support and face limited access to services, especially those that promote mental and social well-being, such as art, sports, and community programs.

Traditional nonprofits often focus solely on food and shelter, and while those are critical, they leave massive gaps. Families still need clothing, hygiene essentials, technology, and financial help for extracurricular growth.

At The Elisha Collaborative, we’re doing things differently. By securing and donating overstock inventory to those in need. Also, our online merch store profits will go towards procurement acquisitions of overstock items.  We meet families where they are, with dignity and purpose, offering the things other systems overlook.

2 Kings 4: 1-7
Elisha and the Widow’s Oil

A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”

Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few.

And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”

So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”

And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
